The £40m redesign of Tooting’s Burntwood School has been honoured in a European architecture competition.
The girls school was presented with a Civic Trust Award after it was remodelled and rebuilt last year.
Burntwood's campus has four new teaching blocks, a performing arts centre and a sports hall.
The school’s assembly hall and swimming pool and gym building were also modernised.
Changes to the school have allowed the school to cater for an additional 250 pupils, including an expanded sixth form of up to 400 students.
Helen Dorfman, the school’s principal, said: "The award recognises that Burntwood provides great opportunities for our students and for the wider community."
