A schoolgirl was injured in a road accident in Tolworth this morning.

The incident happened on Tolworth Broadway this morning, across the road from Lords estate agents.

Vinesh Mistry, 27, an employee at Lords estate agents on the Broadway, said: “There was a little school girl. She was on the floor surrounded by people. She seemed like she had been in an accident or like something had hit her.

“And then the ambulance arrived. I drove past and as I came back she was being attended to and paramedics were there, probably for over an hour, putting her in the brace position and in a stretcher and things.”

Val Bridger, store manager at PMG Schoolwear, said: "When I turned up at work at about 7.45am, the ambulance was there and then a police car and then another ambulance and another police car turned up."

A London Ambulance spokesman said: “We were called before 7.50am to reports of a RTC on Ewell Road.

“We sent two ambulances to the scene and treated one patient, a girl reported to be 11 years old, for a shoulder and knee injury.

“She was taken to St George’s Hospital as a priority."
