CRAYFORD will soon have a new library.

The building in Town Hall Square will open at 10am on Saturday, November 17 and is part of the new housing and community development behind Crayford Town Hall.

Facilities include a dedicated IT suite, a meeting room for public hire, a designated study space and a separate children’s area with books and computers.

A new community centre will be opening directly above the new library and there will be a formal opening event for both early next year.

Cabinet member for leisure services Councillor Don Massey said: "The new building with its fantastic new facilities is a real asset to our existing library services and fits perfectly into the regeneration of Crayford.

"I am looking forward to seeing the library in full use."

The old library in Crayford Road closed on Monday (NOV 5) and items needing to be returned after that date can be dropped off at any Bexley library, renewed by telephone on 020 8303 7777 or online by logging into your account.
