A MAN will appear in court today charged with terrorism offences after he was found at Heathrow with a "poison handbook".

Sohail Anjum Qureshi, 29, faces three charges accusing him of preparing to commit or help others commit an act of terrorism and possessing items useful to terrorists.

He allegedly tried to board a flight from London to the Pakistan capital, Islamabad, with a computer disc containing combat manuals, including the "Mujahideen Poison Handbook".

Police said he also had £9,000 in cash on him when they arrested him on October 18, as well as two sleeping bags and two rucksacks.

Mr Qureshi, of Forest Gate, East London, will appear before the City of Westminster Magistrates' Court today.

The police investigation centres on possible terrorist acts abroad and is not believed to be related to any current activity in the UK, sources have said. They would not say whether the suspect was a British citizen.
