A2 TRUNK ROAD, M25 MOTORWAYAND A282 TRUNK ROAD (DARENTH INTERCHANGE) TEMPORARYTRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited has made an Order on the M25 Motorway and A2 and A282 Trunk Roads, in the County of Kent, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works areproposed to be executed on the roads. The effect of the Order is to:-(a) authorise the phased overnight closureof-
(i) the coast-bound carriageway of the A2 between the exit slip road and the entry slip road at Darenth Interchange (M25 Junction 2);

(ii) the roundabout at Darenth Interchange

(M25 Junction 2);
(iii) the roads leading to and from both carriageways of the A2 to and from the roundabout at Darenth Interchange (M25 Junction 2/A282);

(iv) the road connecting the roundabout at Darenth Interchange (M25 Junction 2/A2) to the roundabout at Princes Road Interchange (A225/A296);

(v) the road leading to the anti-clockwise carriageway of the A282 from the roundabout at Darenth Interchange

(M25 Junction 2/A2);
(vi) the road connecting the roundabout at Princes Road Interchange (A225/A296) to the roundabout at Darenth Interchange (M25 Junction 2/A2);

(vii) the road leading to the clockwise carriageway of the M25 from the

roundabout at Junction 2(A2/A282);
(viii) theroad leading from the anti-clockwise carriageway of the M25 to the roundabout at Junction 2(A2/A282);

(ix) the road leading from the clockwise carriageway of the A282 to the link road connecting the roundabout at Princes Road Interchange (A225/

A296) to the roundabout at Darenth
Interchange (M25 Junction 2/A2);
(x) the road connecting from the westbound exit slip road (leading from the A2) to the clockwise entry slip road (leading to the M25) at Darenth Interchange (M25 Junction 2/A282); and

(xi)the road connecting to the London-bound entry slip road (leading to the A2) from the anti-clockwise exit slip road (leading from the M25) at Darenth Interchange (M25 Junction 2/A282);
road connecting to the London-bound entry slip road (leading to the A2) from the anti-clockwise exit slip road (leading from the M25) at Darenth Interchange (M25 Junction 2/A282);
(b) impose a24-hour 50mph speed restriction on -
(i) the coast-bound carriageway of the

A2 between points 500 metres east of the B485 overbridge and 275 metres east of the centreline of the M25 overbridge; and
(ii) the road leading from the carriageway described in b) i) above from its diverge point to apoint 135 metres east of that diverge point;

(c)impose a24-hour width restriction of 3.65 metres in lane 1, 3.00 metres in lane 2, and 2.75 metres in lane 3, of the coast-bound carriageway of the A2 between points 80 metres east of the diverge point of the exit slip road at Darenth Interchange (M25 Junction 2) and 200 metres east of the centreline of the M25 Overbridge. These measures areinthe interests of road safety while contractors undertake junction improvements, including the addition of anew lane to the roundabout, hardshoulder widening, resurfacing, road marking, electrical loop replacement, sign and gantry relocation, ducting work, maintenance works, road structure surveys, and all associated works. It is expected that the work will last for approximately 9months starting on or after Monday 5th March 2018. The overnight closures will take place between (maximum period): Monday-Thursdays 22:00-05:30 Fridays 23:00-06:00

The Order will come into force on 3March 2018 and have amaximum duration of eighteen months. Traffic affected by the closureina)i)above will be directed to leave the carriageway and re-join after the junction. Traffic affected by the remaining closures will be diverted via other junctions on the M25, A2 and A282, and by using the A296 and Bean Lane. The diversion in operation will vary according to the closures in force. The temporary closures, speed restrictions, width restrictions and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
