Sound Advice: Ilford Americana
AMERICANA band Jamie Williams and the Roots Collective headline the Redbridge Green Fair Live Music Club this Friday night (June 15).
They play a warm mix of blues and country.
Also on the bill are solo singer-songwriters Nigel Mear and Richael Silver.
Entry is £4, or £2 for under 18s.
It takes place at Ilford Sports Club, at Cricklefield Stadium in Ilford High Road, and begins at 8pm.
Scottish folk expert Mick West plays Walthamstow Folk Club with skilled guitarist Frank McLaughlin on Sunday (June 17).
It's at Ye Olde Rose and Crown in Hoe Street and doors open at 7.30pm.
Admission is £6, or £5 for concessions.
The Battered Saucepan Blues Band play the same venue at a free gig the day after (Monday June 18).
The lively tunes get going from 8.30pm in the main bar.
Trumpeter Jay Phelps leads an ensemble at the East Side Jazz Club in Leytonstone next Tuesday (June 19).
The group includes Jean Toussaint on the saxophone, pianist Reuben James, bassist Ben Haselton and Clive Fenner on drums.
Admission to the club, at the Lord Rookwoord pub in Cann Hall Road, is £6. It starts at 8.30pm.
Acoustic songwriter Al Neville takes to the stage at Loughton Folk Club for a gig in aid of charity Cancer Research on Thursday (June 14).
Tickets are £3 on the doors, which open at 8pm.
It's at the Loughton Club building in Station Road.
Canadian “murder ballads” singer Ben Rogers has a show at the Birkbeck Tavern in Langhtorne Road, Leytonstone, this Sunday (June 17).
Support comes from the Green Rock River Band and Matt Lax.
The gig, which is free, starts at 6pm.
