HUNGRYTOWN headline Loughton Folk Club on Thursday (May 3).

This duo is made up of talented vocalist Rebecca Hall and multi-instrumentalist Ken Anderson.

Support comes from singer-songwriter Jonny Stemp, who plays a mix of covers and originals.

Entry is £3 and is from 8pm.

It's at the Loughton Club building in Station Road.

Waltham Abbey Folk Club, in Brooker Road, has a singaround jam night on Bank Holiday Monday (May 7).

It begins at 8.30pm and costs £1.50p.

Trumpet player Steve Waterman and friends perform at the East Side Jazz Club in Leytonstone next Tuesday (May 8).

The show, at the Lord Rookwood pub, will also feature Anthony Kerr on vibes, Alec Dankworth on bass and Clive Fenner behind the drums.

Admission is from 8.30pm and is £5.

Nightfires play the Artisan Music Venue in Chingford on Saturday (May 5).

Support acts to be announced.

Entry is £6, or £5 with a band flyer. Doors open at 8.30pm ish.

The Battered Saucepan Blues Band play a free show at Ye Olde Rose and Crown in Walthamstow on Monday (May 7).

It starts around 8.30pm.

Close harmonies group Blueflint take to the stage at the Birkbeck Tavern in Leytonstone for a What's Cookin' show on Friday (May 4).

Also playing is southern folk singer Oliver Talkes.

The music starts at 8.30pm and it's free, although donations welcome.

Cheesecloth, who play the “buried treasure” of 1970s music, perform at the pub on Sunday (May 6).

It starts at 5pm and there will also be a host other eclectic acts. It's free.

Three-piece country rock band Society shake the Birkbeck on Wednesday (May 9).

Support comes from Amelia White and Mark Huff.

It begins at 8.30pm and there's no charge for the tunes.

The Alex Hutton Trio play the E17 Jazz collective's night at Walthamstow Cricket Club next Wednesday (May 16).

The gig, at the venue in Greenway Avenue, costs £5 and begins around 8.30pm.
