Sound Advice: Red hot delta gospel
The Tone Brokers are the special guests of Walthamstow's 17 Blues Club this Friday (June 17).
The guys, who play “red hot” delta gospel, will be supported with a set from club DJ 'Lanky Mick'.
The show is at the Walthamstow Cricket Club in Greenway Avenue.
Entry is free although donations are welcome, with doors opening around 8pm ish.
Sunday (June 19) is father's day. So if your daddy likes folk why not take him down that day to Walthamstow Folk Club's weekly night of goodness at Ye Olde Rose and Crown in Hoe Street?
Headlining are West Yorkshire duo John Cocking and Will Noble, who play songs from their home lands mixed with comic monologues.
Admission is £6, or £5 for concessions, and doors are at 7.30pm.
The Battered Saucepan blues band play the pub on Monday night (June 20).
The music starts in the main bar from 9pm.
It's free.

Walthamstow folk master Russ Chandler plays Loughton Folk Club this Thursday (June 16).
Playing a mixture of traditional tunes from both the US and UK he's definitely worth a watch.
Money raised from the gig is also being donated to Chestnut Cat Sanctuary. Ahh.

The gig is at the Loughton Club in Station Road.

Allison performs old-time clawhammer banjo tunes “in a modern context” while Rachel is a skilled fiddle player.
Support comes from the Chapin Sisters with their blues-pop-rock and Californian singer songwriter Frank Fairfield.
The music starts at 8.30pm in the main bar and it's free, although donations are welcome.
The show is organised by promoters What's Cookin'.
