Heathers the Musical will run at The Other Palace from 9th June to 4th August. Heathers, originally a 1988 film, produced into a musical has never reached the west end recognition it deserves but it is finally being performed professionally in London. This will hopefully bring more attention to the painfully underappreciated musical.

Tickets are flying fast as excited fans scrabble to be able to hear their favourite soundtrack and storyline live in a theatre. The cult classic movie and musical are set in an American high school called ‘Westerberg High’ and centred around three girls called heather and the main character Veronica Sawyer who is desperate to be popular. While this may sound like a typical teenage plot, it takes dark turns as the murderous characters become psychopaths and the school unravels into an uncontrollable state of chaos.

Carrie Hope Fletcher is set to play the protagonist, Veronica Sawyer which is fitting since she has just finished a tour of ‘The Addams Family’ which has similar dark sinister themes. However, in the movie adaptation, Veronica is played by Winona Ryder so Fletcher has considerably big shoes to fill since Winona Ryder’s fans are so dedicated and protective.

This hit musical has already been successfully performed in Los Angeles and New York and is finally in London for a limited run for its debut. So, put on your colour coordinated outfits, learn all the words to ‘Dead Girl Walking’ and the dance routine to ‘Candy Store’ and get your tickets to one of the best musical performances in London this year.
