At the end of every year everyone looks forward to January 1st and the whole idea that evolves around the day. The start of 2017 will bring about many new year’s resolutions for different people, including new diets, exercise, and a change in attitude to work.

Many people will be happy to say goodbye to the end of 2016, which has been turned into many horror film trailers and has ultimately been a horrific year. Starting with the loss of David Bowe and Alan Rickman, then the decision for Brexit which split the county in half, and then the impossible happened with Donald Trump winning the US elections sending the entire world into a state of shock which lasted long enough, to still be a budding conversation around the dining table on Christmas day. The big finale of 2016 was the death of George Michael, Carrie Fisher, and Debbie Reynolds.

So, you can’t blame people for wanting to get as far away from 2016 as physically possible. But, is it possible to finish the end of the year and start a fresh? In the giant scheme of things, January 1st is just another tomorrow. People who want to change their diets and change their attitudes can do so any day of the year, but society chose to do so on the first day of the year, which is actually one of worst times to begin change. As most people will start the New Year Hungover and surrounded by the left-over temptations of Christmas.
