Feminism, equal rights and gender. Problems we face in these are equality for women. Why in today’s era we still struggle to find equality in the female gender. Today I am here to explain why we don’t have enough equality and why this shouldn’t be the case…
Poverty is a big factor of feminism. A statistic I found on my research shows women are 35% more likely than men to live in poverty. This is wrong! Why is this the case? Men are always entitled to more because of the stereotypical phrase of “men are the alpha males”. They are the “stronger” gender in society’s eyes. Why are women made to live in poverty, struggle to feed and provide for their families? Why is this? Women are amazing humans who give the world life and power. They are just as strong and capable of doing wonderful things just like men.
A recent event which happens to me quite regularly when I am out and about on my own or with my friends is the fact that men think it’s acceptable to whistle or shout inappropriate things at me because they think they can. We’re not dogs! Were not just pieces of meat! Were people, who have feelings and do not accept to have men make us feel worthless or any less than them?
As a result of this article I want to spread awareness of equality and that it should no longer remain a problem in today’s society. As J K Rowling once said, “It is our choice that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.”
