On Friday 19th January a variety of very lucky students from Lister Community School had the honour to meet Lord Mawson. Lord Mawson also known as Andrew Mawson is a social entrepreneur who was brought in up in Bradford, Yorkshire; his reason for the visit was to improve the knowledge of the pupils about the House of Lords and to give them advice.
Lord Mawson is best known for his work at the Bromley By Bow centre which is now the UK's first healthy living centre. He is undoubtedly a person to look up to because of all of his community work and for his hard work and perseverance to help the community excel; one of the students from Lister Community School stated " I was very impressed and influenced by Lord Mawson's work and perseverance to support the community and the youth."
Overall, this was a great opportunity for the pupils to meet someone with so much experience, knowledge and the students had felt very enthusiastic after this meeting.
