At the weekend I decided to follow the craze and go to see ‘The Greatest Showman’. I was slightly apprehensive at first because I think musicals can be a bit of a hit or miss experience, I was all for a bit of High School Musical but I was not sure how the particular story about P.T Barnum (whose story the film is about) would play out as a musical. However, I was very pleasantly surprised. The story was brilliantly executed and after doing some research post watching the film I’m not entirely sure the story is 100% truthful but it definitely has truthful aspects. But, most importantly it is very entertaining, the songs are impeccable and they don’t over do it so you can get in to the film without them bursting in to song every 30 seconds.

I believe that it truly is a film the whole family can enjoy, its feel good, funny at times but also has a balance of emotional scenes as well. I wasn’t aware about the story of P.T Barnum before I saw this film but it is very interesting and different to any other story lines of films I’ve seen before. I asked my friend Molly what she thought about the film and she said “It’s the best musical I’ve seen in ages, the actors were so well cast and the story was amazingly executed”. I would recommend going to see the film if you are able to because it really is one that you cannot help but enjoy!
