“Trick or Treat!” When children are going out on Halloween this is what you answer the door to. So, I wanted to know what the parents think about Halloween, so on Halloween night, my friend and I, went around to find out what exactly were their opinions, and this is what they had to say:

‘it’s great, as long as you don’t run out of sweets that is, as I remember when I was a kid coming up to a house like this and being disappointed at the lack of sweets’ said one parent along with another who said ‘I think it is a good thing, It has gotten bigger over the years obviously, as it originally started in America didn’t it really, but I think now, when I was a kid we used to have fireworks in the back garden, whereas now you have to go to a display, but as that has gotten smaller Halloween has gotten bigger, I think it’s a good thing! I think it is good for the children because they love dressing up and going to parties’

As you can see already Halloween traditions have changed from when it started, but is this better? Let’s see what other parents thought about this popular holiday.

‘I think it is good fun for the children, and it is nice as it starts off winter for them’ seeing as we had already heard the positives about Halloween we decide to ask ‘how do you personally find it?’ which she then replied ‘for me and I assume other parents as well, it is a bit of a hassle, but it doesn’t matter since it is only one night’

And finally I asked my mum what she thinks of Halloween and her answer was ‘I love seeing the range of kids and their costumes. There was this one kid who said “well they’re small sweets aren’t they” and the other one was like “right! What have you got for us?” ‘ Which made us to laugh ‘but the majority are so sweet and cute, and have polite manners which always makes it easier, it always makes me happy seeing how excited the kids become’

After finding out about the different views, we came to the conclusion that no matter what age you are, you can always enjoy Halloween for different reasons.
