The first West Norwood Feast of 2017 is due to return on the 2nd April, after a three month long hiatus. With a variety of food markets and activities based around St Luke's Church, it seems bound as a success with temperatures beginning to ebb upwards since January, all in anticipation of this Sunday.

The West Norwood Feast has been running on the first Sunday of each month of April to December, 10am-4pm. As a monthly tradition for nearly all inhabitants of West Norwood, and one I have been taken to - more willingly as I get older - since a child, the significance of the event is both engrained in my mind, and as something every other Norwoodian is proud of, referred to as an "antidote to a depressing high street."

Since 2011, the volunteer-powered events have been affecting the community of West Norwood, wholly positively. Drawing people together to not only enjoy food from less-known smaller companies, their website follows a series of set aims; to give voices to various demographics in the community, offering locals a case to showcase their cookery and other skills and most significantly, encouraging entrepreneurship.

With something to appeal to all - whether than be in artisan, food or even gardening - the West Norwood Feast is arguably the best creation from the Lambeth Council, encouraging a lot more than just good food - however it helps!
