February brings us many things: Valentines Day brought passion and a day dedicated to lovers, Pancake Day saw the making, spilling, flipping and demolishing of England’s best (and worse) ever pancake mixes, as well as the slow and painful ending to a harsh winter. However, for Bexleyheath Broadway shoppers, February also brought a highly anticipated treat.

This month, two new food stalls opened up in the busy mall, bringing in a whole new wave of hungry customers. Both ‘Mr Pretzels’ and ‘Krispy Kreme’ arrived mid-month and for many, it is almost like Christmas Day all over again! With the smell of sweet cinnamon and freshly baked dough lingering around the shopping centre, it is no surprise that both shops have had queues as far as the eye can see.

Mr Pretzels, pretty much selling exactly what the name describes – a, what looks like, complicated twisting and folding of a succulently soft dough with a range of toppings, coatings and flavours - is a wonderful addition to the food range in the shopping centre. Krispy Kreme on the other hand is notorious for it’s fresh doughnuts, having almost every topping and filling possible - it was unsurprisingly really well recieved by the local shoppers.

Both stores have been majorly successful upon their arrival, proving their ability to make almost every shopper’s mouth water profusely. Now the buyers of Bexleyheath have become yet another victim.

The expansion and franchising of these stores have brought an unexpected yet brilliant surprise to the shoppers in the Bexley town. And with the recent opening and warm reception of the extremely popular ‘Creams’ Dessert Bar, it looks like Bexleyheath Shopping Centre is becoming very sweet indeed!
