Large parts of England were hit by snow earlier this week. What is more, a change of events found that the snow actually settled!

Many rejoiced as this meant snow ball fights could begin, snowmen could be crafted and people could go sledging. Though not everyone leapt with joy as the snow began to fall. For many children it also resulted in schools being closed.

The settled snow meant that many struggled with their commutes, due to lack of trains and roads waiting to have grit of them. Furthermore the snow meant that it was very cold and icy- one woman who was not a fan of this cold weather said that her “journey to work was treacherous because the ice was so slippery”.

Sadly, across Europe the freezing weather and snow has killed over 60 people already. Though, hopefully we don’t have too much to panic about, as the snow didn’t last for long, many places in England- particularly in the south east lost their snow by the end of Friday (13th) and were left with icy patches here and there.
