With the year ending the Queen has reflected on those who have done her country proud. With the Olympics having just passed in Rio Britain has been Triumphant, reaching 2nd on the medal table behind the USA. The team managed to top the medal tally for the first time after a home game. The Queen had a tough job deciding the next honours and Knight Hoods before the new year...

Andy Murray or should we say SIR Andy was awarded the first knighthood after becoming the world No.1 winning three major titles including Olympic Champion. Murray has also just been awarded Sports Personality of the year for the second time in his career. Great year for the Tennis Player!

Jessica Ennis Hill was also up there. The athlete and mum aged 30 has recently retired from the Track where she competed in Heptathlon. Then new Dame has competed in two Olympics with one Gold and silver but has won multiple titles in world events.

Also on the knight hood list was Mo now known as Sir Mo! Known for the Mobot and a gold medal for each of his children he is one of the biggest figure heads for British athletics.

Dame Katherine Grainger was the last of the Team GB knight hoods. Grainger is a British rower and with five Olympic medals she is one of Great Britain's most decorated female Olympians. She is a 2012 Summer Olympics gold medallist, four-time Olympic silver medallist and six-time World Champion.

Other honours in Team GB included Adam peaty(swimming), The Kenny's (cycling), The GB Hockey Team, and a whole host of Gold Medallist from the Olympics.
