Art. A word that brings more ambiguity than any other in the English language. Crouch End Art House takes 'Art’ and stretches it out to it’s maximum potential, bringing a sea of new cultures to enjoy the building. I’m not talking finger paintings, I’m talking about music, drama and comedy. From a former Salvation Army Hall to a place of entertainment and fun, this building has surely brought creativity, talent and warmth to North London.

The core of the Art House has to be the cinema. Voted the best cinema of 2014, 15 and 16 by Time Out readers, the Art House definitely lives up to it’s name. These films are the most thrilling, funny and popular movies of the last few years. Some aimed at an older audience, screening more mature films such as 'Let the sunshine in' – romance film directed by Claire Dennis and 'Beast’- thriller directed by Michael Pearce. However that's not to say young people can't go there and enjoy themselves. There are also live shows, comedians, singing and theatre performances, showcasing classics like Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. There is something for everyone, making this a the perfect place to enjoy a night out with friends and family.

Have you ever wanted to treat yourself to an enjoyable day out but haven't had the money? Have you ever wanted to see a quality performance but the price is just out of your range? This one is aimed at you who are my age - young students who just aren't earning enough. It's no secret that cinemas tend to take your money. 8 pounds for Popcorn, 5 pounds for drinks. You end up spending over 20 pounds just to see a movie. But at the Art House, you can see a live show, performed by high quality actors, for just 10 pounds. The same amount you would pay for a regular movie (that you can eventually watch online) you can watch an original, well performed classic.

Affordable. Yes. Multicultural. Of course. Something for everyone. Definitely. The only thing I have yet to mention is the amazing advantages of becoming a member. Regularly going to the Art House is great, but becoming a member has some huge benefits that are almost impossible to miss out on. From free cinema tickets to exclusive meetings with directors, cast and crew members, it's a surprise that more people haven't joined. When people see the word 'art', they assume you need to have skills with a pencil and paintbrush to join. But the only thing you need is a love of talent. And of course, who doesn't love that?
