Technology is something that has gone hand in hand with the development of the human race, but in the last three decades, it seems that this pursuit has been approached with more vigour than ever before. No more are the days of analogue technology and excruciatingly slow download speeds.

Now we have reliable broadband connections and the advent of the smartphones. Such technological advancements have made our lives easier and opened new and adventurous markets, in which creative innovation is a valued asset.

I follow two young and aspiring entrepreneurs from Lewisham who seek break into this brave new market. Darius Palmer and Arainit Hodolli are A Level Students who live in South London. Both are skilled at computing and seek to create a smartphone application. They hope to use the  C++ coding language which can be used to make various programs such as operating systems.

Their idea is to create an app which “improves lives and helps people out”. They gave it the name Life Skills and the whole concept of the app is that it allows people to acquire a variety of skills in a fun and interactive kind of way. They hope to make certain categories for the app which include, sport, education, science and self-improvement to start off with.

Both boys have very high hopes for this project. Ideally, they hope to reach the heights of another teenage entrepreneur, Nick D’Aloisio who sold his app Summly to Yahoo! for £30 million.

However, this journey should not be undermined. App development is an extremely tough and arduous process, but as a backer of these boys, I hope that they can go as far as they can. I’m rooting for you!
