Storm Doris has been battering the northern, eastern, southern and central areas of the country. These strong weather changes have surprised people as this severe and extreme weather isn’t normal in the UK. This has caused a number of amber and yellow National Severe Weather Warnings to be placed across the UK for snow, rain, wind and ice. Despite the warnings and weather predictions as preparation for the storm the UK still faced huge amounts of damage.

The damaging winds, rain and snow brought by the storm have caused travel chaos and property damage all over the country. People have been reporting damage across the whole of Buckinghamshire caused by the storm. The damage ranges from bins falling over and outside furniture blowing away to trees falling down. On the A413 a tree fell down as well as on Green Lane between Chalfont St Peter and Amersham.

However there has been much more extreme damage across the rest of the UK. In the county of Herefordshire a car was submerged under deep water which was a result of the storm. Also in Staffordshire winds gusting at 65 mph knocked down a huge tree in Lichfield which lead to the road being blocked and stopped the residents at the end of the cul-de-sac from leaving in their cars. Not only have problems from storm Doris effected communities like this but a woman outside the Starbucks in Wolverhampton was tragically killed by a falling debris.

All this mayhem was thought to be over however another storm hit the UK soon after. Storm Ewan followed with more severe weather and the consequences of this are still being felt.
