The Tithe Barn is on Sandy Rise in Chalfont St Peter. The building is run by a charity made up of volunteers of Gold Hill baptise church and members of the public.

Tithe Barn holds the Chalfont St Peter Youth Centre which provides an action packed programme of structured and 'open' style activities for example: table football, air hockey, table football, talent evenings, party nights, sports Xbox 360 and a tuck shop. The activities are varied and meet the needs of all who wish to attend.

For the youth club there is a £1 entry cost for each attendance. The Chalfont St Peter Youth Centre is about giving back to the community and the majority of its income is ploughed back into the Youth Centre to provide and enhance the resources to support the delivery of excellent youth work in the community. It is also proud and well known for its 'inclusive policy', no young person will be denied access because of affordability.

Monday nights at the Youth Centre provides a full programme of a range of dynamic and fun-filled activities for year 7. It is an opportunity to meet with friends who have gone to different schools so that relationships are maintained after Year 6.

Wednesday nights at the Youth Centre are busy as young people enjoy each other's company taking part in various conversations, 'hanging-out' and a range of exciting activities for year 9-11.

Thursday nights at the Youth Centre are punctuated with high octane energy as members enjoy a feast of different activities, programmes and creative events. The internet cafe is particularly busy as is the Sports court.

I spoke to the care taker and volunteer at Tithe Barn. He says “The Barn is a hub for the youth in the community where they can come to socialise, have fun and meet new people, which is inspirational and encouraging”. I asked him about the facilities and he said “The hub is used for various things, its facilities include a sports court used for football, tennis, hockey and basketball. Inside there are computers, table football, X box and other inside entertainments and games. Youth leaders have been the driving force behind the club and they encourage the youth to have fun always. I also asked him about the impact this centre has on the community and he said “It is so rare and nice to see youths enjoying themselves and having fun whilst not being attached to their phones and being anti-social. The Barn offers a space for them to relax and it’s great to see their confidence grow.”
