How to deal with revision stress - Sophia Lorraine Zenonos, The Chalfont's Community College.
For GCSE and A-level students everywhere, the exam days are looming over us and are soon to be here. So in the months before the big exams we are all cramming extra revision where we can (or where we should be!) which can be stressful to say the least... So here are some top tips to make sure you get the most out of a healthy revision session:
* stay hydrated - drink plenty of water prior and during revision sessions so your brain is quenched and prepared to absorb information.
* Don't compromise sleep - if you compromise a good nights sleep in order to stay up at late to do work, you are setting yourself back for the day ahead; as you won't be able to work properly.
* Organisation is key - a beneficial tip to organise what to revise and when, is to make a timetable. Designate certain times for certain subjects to create an efficient schedule.
* Pleasure is important - while revision is necessary for exam prep, so is having fun. Without leisure time, our bodies will go into stress mode which means less concentration and inefficient revision sessions!
Overall, remember health is most important, without health there is no revision and without revision there is no good exam grade!
