We all have a certain expectation of our ideology that Easter contains, may it be yellow hues, sprung flowers or melodic bird tweets but this year Britain did not have its way as 'Storm Katie' made a visit to the south of England.

From early Monday morning we saw gusts of wind in the inland areas about 50-60mph and breathtaking gales of upto 70mph in coastal areas as the day progressed. After midday the south east, Berkshire in particular were struck by heavy lightning, thunder and terrential rain so heavy that it quickly turned into hailstones hard enough to crack windscreens! The afternoon then had a mixture of fleeting sunny spells combined with angry rushes of rain that hit over our houses and cars. It certainly wasn't the picture perfect scene of spring that we idolise, instead it was a typical British day which couldn't make its mind up as to what season it was, despite the many Cadbury eggs floating around..
