School play surprises parents with it's diversity
The North View primary school surprised parents with their play on Sukkot. During the
month of September of 2015 the primary school decided to do something different from
their usual plays, this time doing it on Sukkot, a Jewish festival.
Getting the children involved in the activity was surprisingly easy, has they all showed
enthusiasm in learning about different cultures. There were two teachers involved on
the preparation of the play and between twenty and thirty children.
The play was easily catchy and enjoyable as it involved both songs, sung by the scholars,
and a simple story read and performed by the youngsters.
One of the participants on the play, eight year old Jasmine Maria said "I really liked the
song where they explained the Sukkot dance. The lyrics where really nice and it made
me feel positive!" She later added that "We were taught that the Torah is read and
written from right to left!"
Jasmine's mom also left me her input by saying that "I really enjoyed the dance moves!
They were catchy and even I felt like getting up and dancing with the children [laughs].
The point is, it was surprisingly educational."
The play featured two main songs, in which Jasmine Maria took part in, and a dance
performance for each song. At the end of the play, all parents and students were
rewarded with a bag of chocolates to enjoy. It was an overall memorable play to anyone
present on the day
