This week saw the students of Debden Park High School start there final exam preparation in earnest. Year eleven were provided with two full days of revision in order to touch base with students' progress before May’s GCSEs. Monday and Tuesday consisted of nine, hour long periods targeted learning with many fun twists, which for some year elevens would prove a significant challenge, yet all came through the experienced having gained valuable resources and in a better place with regards to their exams. The days were not without their rewards as well, with hefty orders of takeaway pizza and gallons of fizzy drinks being bought in en masse to take over the school canteen, once younger students were safely out of the way.

Head of school Ms Gascoyne reflected positively on the success of 'Rev it Up', praising the dedication of students and teachers alike, before being rewarded with a fortune cookie by the maths department's mystical fortune teller – all part of the revision experience. In addition to maths, all other school departments offered in depth sessions to their students, with especially laudatory comments coming the way of the science department from deputy head Mr Davies, currently cycling to Belgium with a newly shaved head and beard, all in aid of mental health charity Mind.

It was a pleasure to be part of the year eleven's final preparations as one of the younger students, hopefully they were all able to take something from the event and will now have the tools for success in their GCSEs.
