Have you ever heard of the Mandela Effect? Well recently this theory has been exponentially growing in popularity with new evidence coming to light each month, as the pioneers of this theory are searching through the depths of the past in order to support their theory.

For the record, the Mandela Effect is a phenomenon that you experience when you are convinced that something is correct, along with numerous amounts of people, only to discover that you and others have got it completely wrong, it’s quite an abstract concept to explain so I will be giving you examples.

It’s just small things such as with the popular cereal “Fruit Loops”, which many believe was changed to “Froot Loops” or vice versa – but if you google the original box it will come up as “Froot Loops”. Many believe that it was indeed spelt “Fruit” and this is one of the many examples of the phenomenon. If you still believe or see it as “Fruit Loops”, you may have slipped into a parallel universe (don’t worry I’ll explain this later)

Another popular example lies in the film Star Wars – The Empire Strikes Back where many think that the famous quote is “Luke, I am your father” – whereas no. It’s not. Its “No, I am your father.” Don’t believe me? Then watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lbjru5CQIW4

If you are experiencing this phenomenon, I suggest you go on Google and type up “Mandela Effect” on images for a plethora of examples, it truly is shocking.

So how is this explained? Are we just generally unaware? The most plausible reason that I have researched is that we are living in one universe, which in itself is a part of a larger multiverse where many universes lie, all intertwined and similar. At random intervals, our consciousness may slip into a parallel universe that is similar to ours, and in this parallel universe do we find the slight variations which are shown through the Mandela Efect.

The reason it is named the Mandela Effect, as it first was derived from when many thought Nelson Mandela died in prison, whereas it was actually in 2013.

In my opinion, I don’t fully believe it yet, it’s just too much of an abstract concept and much of the evidence is subjective – but it is definitely an interesting topic of discussion.
