There has not been a lot of snow in north east London in the recent years. When it did snow, it had always been very minimal and light or it just did not settle at all. However, on the 28th of February, the snowfall was the heaviest it had been in years. There were several times it snowed throughout the day and the layer of snow on the ground got thick enough to play with. The snow looks beautiful and almost feels whimsical, especially when snow is still falling and resembles a snow globe.

While this might be a dream that has finally come true for children too young to remember the times it used to snow a lot in 2009 to 2011 or even have experienced it and for teenagers who are ecstatic to relive snow days – it is not the same for adults! There are so many things that an adult must worry about, for example: driving, getting to places on time and their children catching a cold.

“Don’t get me wrong, I love snow. But when it comes to actually getting around during the day, all this snow can cause a lot of trouble and a lot of delays,” explained Mrs Gibson.

“I know some schools are closed but my kids, their school is still open, and it really has been a struggle in the morning,” complained Mr Donahue.

Car trouble was the most frequent complaint and inconvenience caused by snow. The car troubles included wiping off the snow from the windscreen, driving on icy roads and having to drive extremely and inconveniently to maintain the safety. It is extremely important and necessary to do all these things but also time consuming.

On a happier note, all the trouble is worth going through as no inconvenience can disrupt the joy of waking up to see soft and untouched snow sitting on the ground.
