What is the first thought that comes to your mind when you hear about house parties? Immediate excitement? Fun? Loud music? Unbearable loud music late at night? This article will presumably receive a collective cheer at the first three options but very few disapproving nods at the last option. A common but overlooked problem caused by seemingly harmless house parties. They can be very disruptive if it is taken too far.

“I have children and they can’t sleep at night. We live two houses away from them and we can still here them,” said a distressed mother, Mrs Gibson.

“I understand that kids just want to have fun but sometimes it just goes too far. They go on for too long, they play the music too loud and the whole neighbourhood can hear them,” complained a middle-aged man, Mr Davis.

Mr Travis simply stated: “They are irresponsible and inconsiderate to carry on for that long. Everyone else in the neighbourhood fed up!”

If special events are taken too far, they would cause disruptions and inconvenience the lives of others. I would be impossible to tell how important the next day could be for them. They may have life changing exams, interviews or meetings and it would be impossible to function while deprived of sleep.

However, house parties and other celebrations alike should not be repulsed or forbidden. Having fun, celebrating victories and shareing memories and joy is perfectly fine with everyone - until it is taken too far.  Some restriant and control should be exercised. It would be much appeciated by the neighbourhood.
