Today was the last day of auditions for the students of Debden Park to get into the latest whole-school project the expressive arts team has in store. Every two years, the school brings in all the best actors, dancers and musicians from all years and creates a play that has not yet failed to dissapoint viewers since the year the school opened up; recent productions included "Neverland" in 2014, and "Alice" in 2012, based off of the stories of Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland.

However, this year auditions have been especially tense, with the newly formed sixth form as part of the school premises, those taking expressive arts at A-level are also allowed to audition, meaning younger aspirers have a smaller chance of making it to the final cut. all years are welcome, but Mr Ventura, the head of Drama and deputy headteacher for DPHS, said "the higher years will probably have higher chances of getting the more important roles because of their abilities, though there have been times in the past where that has changed". One example of this was in the last production "Neverland" when a year 8 student played the part of Captain Hook.

The auditions have spanned over two days, testing those who come on their ability to follow a dance routine, to act out key characters to the show, and sing a song from the hit west-end show "Wicked". in terms of inspiration, the expressive arts office of DPHS have said that this production will have a story driving away from the original we've accustomed to and move towards other, more recent additions to the lore...and a little more.

one thing's for sure, The Expressive Arts team will not disappoint. This will be a show for families, couples and little munchkins everywhere.
