It’s almost the end of January and, if you’re anything like me, you’ve probably already broken most of your New Year’s resolutions if not all of them. And, like always, you’ll end up dusting them under the rug for the remainder of 2018 until next year’s resolutions roll by.

While it might be easier to ignore these promises you’ve made yourself, it is much more beneficial to carry on with them. New resolutions means new feats are to be made and conquered…even if you have stumbled around with them. All you have to do is allow yourself time to recollect yourself and let yourself start afresh even if it defeats the purpose of making it (your resolutions) at the start of each year.

Now, you might be thinking: what’s the point? Well, the point is to challenge yourself and help yourself make the year as best as it can ever be for you. 2017 was undoubtedly a rough year for most and 2018 doesn’t seem to be slowing down either. In these troubling times, it’s important to have faith in yourself and your ideas. Why? The answer is simple – to make yourself happy.

And, the first way in starting that is starting small. Don’t push yourself to do something completely bold and courageous as a resolution – start small and build it up! That way, you won’t feel so overwhelmed and completing it won’t seem like a mirage. If you do break it, that’s okay! All you have to do is start all over again and work better than before.

Here’s to making the new year ours.
