A 16 year old boy was stabbed on this Sunday afternoon. Police were called by the Ambulance service to Tufnell Park Road, near its junction with Holloway Road, at 4:38pm.

The police officers and paramedics found the boy suffering from a stab injury and was taken to the nearest hospital (Whittington Hospital), with non-life-threatening injuries. After a search, officers arrested a 44 year old man just before 6pm on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, possession of a pointed article (a type of knife) and possession of class A drugs (highest quality drugs such as: heroin and cocaine).

He remains in custody with enquiries to be carried out, since it’s a possibility for him to have committed the crime, being unsure of his actions due to drugs.

A senior resident, Brian, of the Northview Estate (a residential block in Tufnell Park), said “I heard an air ambulance and sirens so I got my walking stick and set out. There were loads of people standing around and the road was completely shut off. It’s really worrying. I was born and bred here and this isn’t how our Holloway was. There are too many crimes happening.”

Many locals have been complaining about the amount of dreadful attacks spreading around Islington, which used to be a calm civilised borough, has now become a borough of fear; this has led to Islington being London’s second most dangerous borough.
