After nearly hundred years the gas pipes in some roads of Goodmayes are being replaced. The long process started on the first week of November and is still continuing up till now, which is causing a lot of inconvenience to the local residents of the busy area, Goodmayes

the Khalid family was one of the many families who have and still are suffering due to this disturbance, but have no choice but to put up with it.

A vexed Mr. Khalid says: “this is creating a big problem for me as I am unable to get to work on time due to the blockage of roads.”

The builders working on this extensive project arrive at the building site early in the morning and begin the rather noisy work. This has a huge impact on the local residents and a prodigious number of complaints have been filed against this.

A distraught Mrs Forman says: “it is hard for me to drop my children off to school everyday as pavements are blocked and my mischievous children keep running towards the deep holes in the ground.”

This has also become a matter of child safety and is threatening the local residents who wish to walk near the pavements. According to some people living nearby the road work, life has become a “living hell” for them and is getting very hard for them to cope.

The builders have said that they do not know when this disturbance will come to an end but its should be very soon.
