NOTHING TO DO?

Are you the type of person who loves to go outdoors and explore the world but is unable to do so as you are not a member of a group or a club?

Well now you can by joining or becoming a member of your local scout group. Scouting was first founded in 1908 by Robert Baden-Powell. It is an organisation that allows kids between the ages of 10 ½ -14 to have an opportunity to do many unimaginable and mind blowing activities. Scouting has been around for over 115 years and many children have had the experiences of their lives. Some of these mind-blowing activities include; Canoeing, Skydiving, Mountain climbing and allows you to interact with and meet people like Bear Grylls and Steve Backshall.

Sam Longhurst 2nd Chads Scout leader spoke about what he feels is the most important characteristics that are needed in a scout. “I feel that a scout needs to have the following characteristics to be a good scout. They need to show that they are willing to face whatever obstacles await them, they need to always be truthful, they should always be there to help a friend in need and most importantly A SCOUT SHOULD ALWAYS HAVE FUN!”

As it is a worldwide organisation the leaders of each Scout group do not get paid, they do it as they like to interact with kids like you and make sure you are active and are always having a good time. Over a thousand children joined the worldwide Scout group last year and there has never been a child who has not had an unforgettable experience.

So if you are a child who is looking for something to do in your spare time then why not join a Scout group and be part of a worldwide family.
