Like every other year in Newham the Newham council has organised a firework display for Guy Fawkes night. It is going to be held in Forest Gate-in Wanstead flats to ensure as many people as possible are able to attend the event. Although it is going to be taking place on the 5th of November the council has already started with its preparations. These preparations include picking up trash and cleaning the local area. Some residents have also taken matters into their own hands, and have made it their responsibility to be a part of this noble cause.

The event will be hosted by DJ James Anthony who promises to entertain and uplift everyone’s spirits by playing the greatest hits and keeping everyone on their feet.

According to Mr Mason-(a local resident), “This year’s bonfire night will be different from the rest; It promises to be even more memorable, as the time has changed so dark winter nights are the perfect opportunity to witness awe-inspiring illuminations and explosions in the sky.”

To make sure everyone is aware of this event some families have been distributing leaflets and pamphlets to each and every doorstep. The Cole family took part in this because they said, “The more the merrier.”

The most excited for this occasion are children so therefore the organisation have arranged small rides for the youth to enjoy.

However, as this event attracts respected civilians it may be a concern that others may find it a chance to disrupt peace; by breaking into shops and getting drunk then creating nuisance. In order to prevent this Officer Jerald said, “We will try our best to avert such a situation by remaining vigilant of every move.”
