A dozen High tech bins are set to be implemented into a new cleaner streets initiative in a bid to make the streets of Redbridge litter- free.

Dubbed 'Big Belly Bins' by the council, they possess AI-like qualities; meaning the bins have something akin to their own functioning mind. They compact the rubbish inside throughout the day and even alert street sweepers when they are full.

However, locals are quizzical as to what effect this new scheme will have on the roads of redbridge. One woman stated that, ' [I] Don't think this will do anything really. Redbridge is a dirty place...people don't really care where they put their empty crisp packets.'

There were some who supported the idea, an eldery gentleman who has lived in Ilford for some 26 years was quick to argue that, 'It's a good idea. Shopping bags blow onto my drive...it is very frustrating. I hope people take more time to throw away their litter.'

The move is set to start small. Only a dozen 'Big Belly Bins' will line the streets of Redbridge when the gambit commences.

With a sizeable amount of failed rubbish policies like the 'chewing gum chart', in the council's wake, it is difficult to predict the Borough's success.
