The road we take is often long and bumpy, so I ask you to preserve and keep going. For which ever road you have taken, there is a gate at the end which you must open and I sincerely hope it is as beautiful as the one I have just opened.

A road. An empty road. A road to nothing? A road to everything? A road to Heaven or a road to Hell? When the sun meets with clouds, it creates a beautiful symphony. Quite peaceful to look at might I add. Something about it just makes sure that your troubles float away, much like the clouds drifting towards its next destination. From the palm trees swaying, to the engines accelerating, to you taking deep breaths, your whole world is at ease. One of my favourite words of all time is “peace”, why? Because it can be associated with many things, violence or even pure, a heavenly sanctuary that we long for. What’s your sanctuary? If I could tell you right now, that you’re able to do whatever you wanted, what would it be? Would you jump off a cliff (safely, of course) or would you go on a trip? Would you somehow become carefree? Or are you one of *those* people who like to make lists and research (guilty!) Okay… I’m going off track here. Let’s resume.
I took this trip hoping I could find some inner peace, it’s something we’re all looking for, aren’t we? It’s a word that is so easy to say yet equally as hard to follow through with it. This photo was taken at the perfect moment, in my eyes at least. It was during a therapeutic walk, I like to take one of those every now and then. I love that this photo doesn’t abide by the rubrics of “Rule of Thirds”, I love breaking photography rules, it gives me this sense of *slight* power which I wouldn’t get anywhere else. The white houses and the blue, cloudy skies create a beautiful harmony. When I think of taking pictures, I always think of the shot as a whole, never the little elements. What can I say? Sometimes I get a little lucky! Someone once told me that we are our greatest critic, but sometimes it’s good to enjoy and congratulate your work. I love that my picture follows a minimalistic theme of a perspective, the road. Believe it or not, roads are my favourite thing to take a picture of because so many questions just run through your mind. Where is it leading to? Where am I, right now? How long have I been following this road? Did I die while taking this photo (which is very rare)?  I’ll be the first to admit that *sometimes* I go to extreme measures to take a photo. I’ve stood on *one* too busy roads and stepped over the edge on *one* too many mountains just because I had an idea and I don’t let the thought of appearing silly or all the weird looks I get stop me from doing what I want to do. I know I’m taking a dope photo, so who cares what anyone else thinks?
Plain and simple, you don’t have to be amazing to love doing something. If you enjoy it, that’s all that should matter. Drive needs no push, passion needs no pull and motivation only needs you. You know, appropriately, they say that a “picture is worth a thousand words” because my hope for every single photo I take is that it leaves you with a thousand questions. But mainly one, in particular, what do you like to do?
