With Donald's Trump's inauguration day happening only less than two weeks ago, it's safe to say that people are not happy with what is happening around the world right now. Thousands of people (particularly women) protested against Donald Trump, just a day after he started his presidency. Yet, nothing has changed. Trump still wants to build a wall to separate Mexico and North America. He is already trying to change the health care system in America too.

Although this matter is significantly important to the matters of the world, there are still things being hidden or not given importance by the media. Just over 5 hours ago, 900 churches were burnt down by Boko Haram (an extremist group in north-eastern Nigeria, an Islamic state chief executioner has been stabbed to death in Iraq, thousands of bisexual or gay men, who had previously been convicted of past crimes, such as 'gross indecency', have now been pardoned.

All this has happened in the last 24 hours but this isn’t broadcasted as the ‘main’ news; it’s just seen as less important. Celebrities like Kim Kardashian are given more importance over someone’s death or a life changing event. The media simply keeps certain thing hidden from the public eye and as a society, we do nothing to find out more; we simply just take what we get.

How many disasters do we need to unite humanity? We let those in power gain more than they need, we see those who struggle just to get by each day but just turn our heads the other way. What happens next? Do we continue taking what we get? Or will we choose to seek more knowledge to achieve a better understanding of the world? Will we still give more importance to trivial things like the latest pair of trainers or to something like genocide?

Whatever happens next, we have the power to decide.
