Carrie Fisher passed away on 27 December, following a cardiac arrest, leaving behind a 24 year old daughter, Billie Lourd, and her mother, Debbie Reynolds - who passed away a day after Carrie Fisher. Todd Fisher, son of Reynolds and Fisher's brother told reporters "she said she wanted to be with Carrie."
As well as being one of Hollywood's most successful actress' at the golden age, Reynolds was a humanitarian; a founding member of The Thalians, an organisation dedicated to mental health causes, which she led for 60 years. She was one of the earliest LGBT activists, alongside with Elizabeth Taylor - hosting AIDS benefits for the LGBT community in the early 1980s before the disease was even publicly discussed by Ronald Reagan.

Carrie Fisher, commonly known as the Princess of the Star Wars franchise, was also a mental health advocate, writer, mother, sister, daughter and an inspiration to many. She did not allow herself to be consumed and controlled by the manipulative and evil ways of Hollywood which was never fair to Carrie Fisher, criticising her weight, the way she aged, her body since the age of 19. She stood strong for what she believed in always and inspired others to do so. Fisher was a force of nature; brave enough to be open about the battles she fought. She was unapologetic about existing as herself. Regardless of what the media used to portray her as, she was more than a pretty princes in a bikini suit. She touched so many people's hearts, especially young girl's, with her genuine warmth. It always felt like she reflected everyone else's own wants and needs. She made people feel who had not even met her feel immensely close to her. Carrie Fisher was universally loved by many.

Debbie Reynolds, one of the bravest women in Hollywood, died grieving her daughter's death. She made the world a better place with all that she left behind. She will never be forgotten.

Carrie Fisher is an icon. A legendary woman that we are all so thankful to have known. Her life journey was not easy but she made everyone else's slightly easier. She will never be forgotten.
