" Thrive Greenwich is our new local approach to improving and protecting mental wellbeing across our diverse and vibrant communities. We are building on Mayor Sadiq Khan’s city- wide programme, Thrive LDN, and will focus on tackling the stigma and discrimination around mental health issues. "

On the 23rd March 2018 at Mitre Passage, Mental Health Ambassadors of Greenwich were given the opportunity to attend the Thrive Greenwich Launch as well give a short presentation about their work including starting a #youmattergreenwich instagram page and creating a video.

At 1pm lunch and refreshments were served followed by a range of presentations and speeches from a variety of people to 5pm. " Firstly we learned about the context and background for mental health work in London from Joanne McCartney, Deputy Mayor of London, " - Mahrukh Shahid

Shortly after we heard from national mental health campaigners and stars of Channel 4 documentary The Stranger on the Bridge, Jonny Benjamin and Neil Laybourn who told us their inspirational and moving story.

Lastly we heard from various groups and explored how we can each contribute to tackling stigma and empowering local communities.
