Are you looking for an exciting event to light up your evening in London? The Lumiere London light festival has returned and it is looking more spectacular than ever! London's streets have been filled with captivating luminous installations which have transformed the city into a "nocturnal art exhibition", as described by 'Visit London'.

The main hotspots for this extravaganza are Westminster & Victoria, London's West End, South Bank & Waterloo, Fitzrovia, Mayfair and King's Cross. If you need any help navigating your way around the streets, the visitlondon app has created a new 'Lumiere London' map feature, where you can browse through the installations and receive directions to each of them on your phone! This enables you to quickly and effectively plan a route for your evening.

The exhibition is free and accessible to all: standing as a mighty fortress for public cultural enrichment. The shared appreciation for beauty and creativity is truly awe-inspiring and the celebration of people's artistic contributions to society creates a unique and exquisite sense of solidatiry within the local community. "The evening was utterly beautiful and I think this event is a wonderful opportunity to show unity within the community" commented one young onlooker who had come to visit the event with some friends.

Indeed there were many interactive installations which required the united participation of onlookers, such as "The Rose" by Mick Stephenson. This installation was powered by rows of bicycles which were pedalled by members of the public. Through this interactive installation, Stephenson conveys how, in some less fortunate parts of the world, access to light is a luxury and must be earned through hard, laborious work.  For many onlookers his work also displays how communities can be transformed and strengthened by light.

The exhibition begins at 5:30pm until 10:30pm from the 28th-21st of January. Come along tonight to enjoy the final dazzling rendition!
