On the 24th of December 2017, on Christmas Eve the Sikh community raised a charity fund for homeless people at Ilford, this took place at Ilford hill near the local police station.

This act of kindness brought several other communities to come together. This shows that everyone is one in the eye of God.

There were volunteers and fund raisers from all communities as well, i.e. Muslims, Hindus and Christian to help in such a noble cause. This charity lunch began at 11pm, food was served to all people.

One of the volunteers spoke that, “Helping the less fortunate is one of the top priorities as they should be equal to the fortunate”. These kind words show how Christmas is a month of faith and how this has affected the homeless by giving the food, water and shelter and also providing moral support by the whole community.

Also a Sikh member said, “Having this opportunity did not only help us work together as a community but helped up cherish and thank god for everything he has given us”.

This day brought a lot of happiness to the homeless people as they experienced Christmas with a bit more than hope.
