Since 2007, World Zombie Day has hit the streets of London in order to celebrate Halloween and raise money for the St Mungo's Broadway Charity. The event originates from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and slowly spread to more than fifty countries across the world. Hundreds of people participate and show their support for the charity event. It is a great chance to get out and have fun for a day while experiencing the sites of London.

This year the walk started in Camden and finished in Piccadilly. The zombies received a range of reactions while travelling through the streets of London however they were unrelenting in their journey. The zombies stopped off in St. Pancras Churchyard to have a quick twenty minute break as well as giving the photographers a chance to get some portrait shots with creepy backgrounds.

St Mungo's Charity are fighting to end homelessness and rebuild lives. They were established in 1969 and have been working closely with the homeless and those facing life on the streets. World Zombie Day has been supporting St Mungo's charity since 2007. Donations can be made through the World Zombie Day website or by becoming a sponser. Money is also collected during the walk in collection buckets carried by the organisers. This year the London zombie walk raised nearly one thousand pounds on their Just Giving page and all of this money will make its way to St Mungo's charity.

Megan Aileen Williams, one of the London co-founders, said that the London event is “helping to 'bite back' against hunger and homelessness”. This event allows many fans of Horror or Sci-Fi to come together and celebrate something that they love and raise money for a good cause that can improve lives. Even though the event is seen as a day of fun it really does changes lives and the more people who participate, the more change can be seen on the streets.
