Port Lympne is a wildlife and safari park in Hythe. It's home to over 100 different species of animals, and also offers a variety of places to stay. Zoos and wildlife parks have always been controversial, yet what is Port Lympne really like?

As soon as you walk about the bridge from the car park, there is a large enclosure of monkeys, which starts off the wildlife experience immediately. After going through the grand gift shop, you can start visiting the different animals.

The wildlife park is extremely popular and there are people of all ages, everywhere you go. We first embarked upon a safari endeavour. It gave us a chance to witness the spectacular animals, such as giraffes who were over 7ft, or cheetahs prowling around. Also, at some points in the safari ride, the view was so vast, that you could even catch a glimpse of France.

We then decided to visit the Barbary Lion's enclosure. Not only was it amazing to be so close to the animals, yet we also saw a zookeeper feeding the lions, which was breathtaking, as he was practically hugging the lions!

After a day of adventuring, we had the opportunity to stay in luxurious pods. Not only was there a campfire available, yet also, we were right next to the wolves' enclosure, and could hear them howling.

Zoos and wildlife parks are often greeted with mixed views, however Port Lympne was definitely the best wildlife park I had ever visited. Not only were we treated extremely well, yet also it was obvious that all the keepers around truly cared for the animals and looked after them well. It is a visit I really recommend!
