Egg-stravaganza at Easter Fair

On Wednesday 30th March, Newstead Wood held their annual Easter fair. Many activities were held such as the sale of knitted goods, a variety of food such as ice cream, sweets, pizza and much more. The fair started at 1:05pm and lasted until 2pm and raised a lot of money for the school and a variety of charities. There was also a raffle and bubble tea stall which attracted a lot of interest from the Newstead Wood community. The fair was an amazing way to bring the Newstead community together so that we were all able to donate and raise money for a wide variety of charities.

A variety of students decided to make products for their stalls with children from the ages of 11-18 raising money, it was an amazing fair. Some Newstead students said the fair was “extremely fun and the food was delicious and we are happy that we could raise money for a variety of worthy causes”. The Newstead community would like to thank all of those who helped make the stalls as well as everyone who donated money and helped set up.

Another amazing fair was at the Horniman Museum as they had ‘Alice in Wonderland’ storytelling which was priced at £4 per child and £1 per adult. Children had the opportunity to meet the White Rabbit, Cheshire Cat and the Mad Hatter in an amazing storytelling version of ‘Alice in Wonderland’. It was aimed for children above the age of 3 years old and it was very interesting for children to learn and understand the story with the beautiful visual effects demonstrated by the characters.
