On the 18th of March 2017, the Langley Girls trampolining team travelled to the Gateshead Leisure Centre in Newcastle for the National Schools Trampolining Competition.  They were competing in the under 19s intermediate category as a team and Issie Atack was competing in the individual competition also. They told me that they were ‘really nervous as there was a lot of competition’ but they were ‘very happy to have gotten this far’.

The girls were due to bounce at around 4pm and therefore warmed up before hand – they told me that their warm ups went well.  It was then time to compete.  With all girls performing spectacularly they managed to place 5th in the UK – a wonderful achievement for their first nationals!  On top of this, Issie Atack placed 4th in individual – a big improvement on her last national competition despite the higher age group!

The girls plan to work hard in order to go to the nationals next year in Belfast where they hope to improve on where they came this year.
