One of my many favourite things to do is eating, something I’m sure many other people will agree with me on. I have therefore decided to bring my two interests together by writing about my top 3 places to eat and drink in Walthamstow. Often people opt for more central places to eat out, perhaps the Vapiano’s on Oxford Street, but what they oversee are restaurants in areas like Walthamstow. With the recent renovations in the area, Walthamstow has become much more diverse regarding the types of food that they have to offer. As well as the well-known franchise brands like Nando’s, there are a lot of independent restaurants and even smaller market-based stalls that will sure get your taste buds tingling. With all of that, after a lot of thinking, here are my top 3 places to eat in Walthamstow:

1) Deja Vu Garden

Perhaps the easiest location to find, Déjà vu Garden is situated at the top of Walthamstow Market. You will find that it is full of culture with the restaurant serving all types of food, mainly traditional Bulgarian and Turkish food. There is also an outdoor seating area, which is so beautifully decorated. Each time that I have been there, it has been full of people excited to dig in and eat their meals. My personal favourite was the pepper steak dish, something I would definitely recommend to you all.

2) Proper Burgers

This location is just off Lea Bridge Road and is a popular choice for those who love more American style foods. As the name suggests, the restaurant mainly serves burger meals. However, it is most definitely more than just your average cheese burger place, Proper Burgers are indeed very ‘proper’. They are extremely creative with presentation, particularly with their desserts. The ‘freakshake’ is definitely a popular option for those of you with a big sweet tooth!

3) Bonners Fish Bar

We can all appreciate a nice fish and chip meal on a Friday night, wouldn’t you agree? A very familiar and loved place by pretty much all of the locals, Bonners has been around for a long time, serving people with the best fish in town! This is a very affordable, yet delicious option. The workers are always so welcoming and will cook you up something amazing no doubt. You can never go wrong with fish and chips, right?

Whether you are a foodie or not, be sure to check out some of the places that I mentioned if you are ever in the area.
