Students shocked as normal bus stop is temporarily closed.

Everyday at 3:15pm, students from St Philomena’s High School for Girls rush out of school to catch the 3:20-30pm buses. But on Monday the 27th February they were met with a closed down bus stop; which is not particularly ideal when you have over half a school and members of the public anxious to get home quickly.

The Carshalton Road/Cambridge Road stop is the only bus stop for a while where three buses are available, 154, 407 and 627, making it the most convenient, efficient and effective bus stop.

Disruptions are not only affecting normal bus riders but it is also affecting those driving as the road is solid with traffic. This morning as I passed the bus stop, traffic was in a solid line for as far as I could see as temporary lights had now been put in place.

However there is good news for those travelling to Croydon/Wallington as buses are running as normal with few disruptions.

We do not know how long the bus stop will be closed but here are alternative stops:

154 to Morden - Wales Avenue

407 to Sutton - Pound Street

627 to Worcester Park - Pound Street
