All around England and Scotland, the weather has become much colder, and as a result of this, snow has started to fall, for the first time in years. Many people were extremely excited, for this weather change, however is the snow as phenomenal as everybody makes it out to be, or is it just a nuisance and causer of accidents?

Snow may seem beautiful when it first starts to fall, however as one day passes, the soft snow turns into harsh ice. This ice then causes many problems for many people. Elderly people begin to slip more, resulting in broken bones, and even more crowded hospitals. Children have accidents, when the presume that the ice will be as fun to play with as the snow. Traffic increases dramatically, with cars attempting to be careful when driving on the slippery roads, yet more road traffic accidents occur, as the ice become extremely difficult to drive on.

Snow can also result in many, many delays. As mentioned previously, traffic increases dramatically, which causes children to be late for school and adults late for work. Also, students are stranded at train stations, waiting for hours until they reach their destination, which panics parents.

Despite all of these negative implications of snow, in England, it can be very rare for snow to fall, so it is naive to suggest that no-one will enjoy it. Even though it has its fault and flaws, there is utterly shocking beauty in snow, which nothing can take away.
