This evening a huge lorry trying to turn from Manor Road left onto the Upper Richmond Road took out the wall of the resident living on the turn. The owner of the house said that 'the lorry had got stuck between the lights and the wall'.

'It was lucky no-one was there, otherwise they would be dead' he also remarked. The lorry was almost ten meters long and would never have been able to make the turn.

Police had roped off the demolished wall and there was a Police van together with a fire truck nearby. The lorry was parked off the pavement, taking up most of the road and making it difficult for cars to get by. This has caused gridlocked traffic backing up on Manor Road as well as Queen's Ride and through into the centre of Richmond as well as more on the Upper Richmond Road in the opposite direction.

The owner was relieved that the wall had not damaged his car that was on the other side of it and remarked that the whole thing was 'quite funny now'.
